Africa Real Estate Conference on Growing African Cities (AFRECA 2018)
One of the leading Real Estate firm in Nigeria and a member of ToLet Property Group, PropertyPro.ng, recently held Africa Real Estate Conference specially tagged AFRECA 2018. The conference was held in Lagos with the theme: Growing African Cities:The Reshaping Model.
The conference was officially hosted by Stephen Ipalibo-Lawson and a cream of real estate investors, enthusiasts, professionals, and government officials from various parts of the globe were in attendance to discuss on how to reshape the African real estate sector.
In a special keynote address by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, ably represented by the state Housing Commissioner, Prince Gbolahan Lawal, revealed that his administration is putting every available resource to work to ensure that housing and the real estate sector will begin to experience multi-dimensional growth in the state.
The Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, ToLet Property Group, Fikayo Ogundipe, took time to welcome guests at the annual event. He stated that his firm thought it right to confront the present challenges hampering meaningful progress in Nigeria real estate sector by holding annual event, where real estate stakeholders can proffer solutions to the issues.
The key topics that featured prominently in the discussion included: housing policies in Africa, optimizing real estate funding to create a favorable investment climate in Africa, the role of government and private sector in sustainable and equitable housing, the importance of risk management and insurance in re-shaping cities and boosting investors’ confidence, impact of paints industry on real estate and automated security solutions for residential developments.
Major players in the industry who delivered presentations include the CEO Alpha Mead Group, Femi Akintunde, the CEO Kontz Engineering, Mustapha Lusty, the CEO Casafina, Olufemi Seyi, and the Chief Development Officer/Director Cube Square Concepts Limited, Adegbenga Fashola.

The organizers of the conference presented several recognition awards. The honorable Commissioner for Housing, Prince Gbolahan Lawal who represented the Lagos State Governor, was presented with special award for the growth and development of real estate industry. Otunba Olumide Oshusina was also presented with award for Outstanding Achievement in the growth and development of the Nigerian real estate industry.
